Dr. Tom LaFountain first began working with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) in 1997. While serving as a chiropractic team physician to the U.S. speedskating team, a friend who was a physical therapist and a member of the PGA staff approached him and requested he fill a void left by the untimely passing of the chiropractor who had been working with the PGA. Thus began a storied relationship that has brought chiropractic care to the forefront of a sport played by millions and viewed by millions more.

Two separate papers published in two scientific journals hold hope for children with autism through chiropractic care. One paper published in the March 2006 issue of Clinical Chiropractic reviews past studies on chiropractic and Autism. This paper recounts in clinical studies where children with autism are helped with chiropractic care. Most of the studies reviewed speak of problems in the upper cervical (neck) spine.

study released by the British, “Medical Research Council” (MRC) showed that Chiropractic and exercise was effective for patients suffering from lower back pain. The British study used the term “spinal manipulation”, (more correctly termed “adjustments”), which they noted is the primary form of care performed by Doctors of Chiropractic. The study, published in the November 19, 2004 edition of the British Medical Journal, stated that when combined with an exercise program, these two offer an effective treatment for those suffering from back pain.
